Ambient Sunday is looking forward to Spring with: E Terre x Sebastian Müller – Butterflies In A Field (Sebastian Müller Remix)

Spring is nearly here. Easter is here. But it’s the combination with the clocks going forwards that’s discombobulating me the most. Where did I put that lost hour. Need to lie down and recover with E Terre x Sebastian Müller.

E Terre is Elliot Turnley from Brighton, England. He’s an ambient/electronic artist and his track Butterflies In A Field has been remixed by Sebastian Müller. Sebastian is also Brighton based but is originally from Switzerland.

Butterflies In A Field is taken from E Terre’s 2023 release A Constant Collage EP. The original is a spectral, minimal piece that centres on swells and recessions of sound.

Sebastian Müller’s remix takes it somewhere grander. The track doubles in length and becomes almost symphonic in the added layers and richness that the track acquires.

This is only lightly experimental but quite drone centred. Despite that, the extra layers of modular synth sound undercut that drone sense to allow Müller to act like a conductor bringing in a bank of sound here. A wave down of an element here.

There’s nothing delicate about these butterflies. This is a carpet of colour that takes to the wing. A wonderful dizzy kaleidoscope of sound.
