Let’s Go Somewhere Quiet: Lena Katina – Never Forget (THEE PAUS3’s Amnesic RMX)

Given the album is to raise money for brain tumour charities, it’s appropriate that the track is Never Forget, remixed by seemingly inexhaustible Thee Paus3. Please reblog, retweet or re-whatever.
Lena Katina’s original mix is classic pop rock, with soaring choruses, and got to #1 on the Billboard dance chart. I’m still really grateful to her for donating the track. I never expected the album to have anything by a former member of t.A.T.u. In the remix The Paus3 dials everything down into something sadder and more lost. The drums aren’t anthemic but muted and crushed. The vocals contain more pain, with only a bit of cow bell to bring some light. IDM sadness.
The album is raising money for brain tumour trust UK and Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation US. Available worldwide digitally in July. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. Research offers the only real hope of dramatic improvements in the management of brain tumours, yet of the £504m spent on cancer research in the UK each year, less than 1% is spent on brain tumours.
